Essential Boating Supplies
from: Maxx Adventure TravelBoating supplies are a necessary part of every boat owners budget. Now that you've got the necessary boating supplies to make your boat legal, is there any other supplies needed eo ensure a great boating trip?
The place to start when condsidering boating supplies is who'll be accompanying you on your excursion. Do you plan to bring your eintire family, some friends, or just you and a special someone? One you know this you know what to do, but you also must determine if you'll be going on a day outing or an overnight one.
If it's a family boating trip, the supplies you'll bring along should reflect everyone's needs. You should have some healthy foods for snacking such as trail mix, raw vegetables with ranch dip, and some fruit or you can just resort to plain old junk food. You should have lots of water and juices on board for the kids, but stay away from sugery sodas because the last thing you want is hyperactive kids running around the boat.
If you're cruising with some friends, your boating supplies will likely be different. Cruising with friends is usually party time, so you might bring along snacks considerably more grown-up. A cheese and cracker platter is nice, but make sure you have a place to keep it cool so the cheese doesn't spoil. Chips and dip are a favorite choice along with finger sandwiches of ham salad and egg salad.
Your beverage choice will be more for adults including coolers to hold canned beer, wine coolers, and pop or iced tea for your non-drinking friends. Keep in mind, however, if you're going to be the one driving the boat, to be moderate in your consumption of to avoid a boating while intoxicated violation.
What if it's just a romantic cruise for two? The your boating supplies should enhance the romantic atmosphere with perhaps strawberries and champagne for toasting. Again, some fine cheese is good as are aphrodisiacs such as oysters and shrimp. Candles can really help solidify the romantic atmosphere as you watch the sun set while peacefully floating on the water.
Obviously a day trip requires fewer boating supplies than an overnight trip. For day trips, there's no need to plan for multiple meals. However, if you're going over-night, have some easy breakfast foods handy such as granola bars, fruit and bagels. Simple lunches are best with sandwiches and chips, but you can really do all out for dinner by finding a great stop-off point along the way with a waterside restaurant so you don't have to worry about cleaning the dishes!
As you can see, boating supplies consist of more than life jackets and tow ropes. Boating supplies are actually thos essential supplies that help to make your day on the water a real trip to remember!
