Tent or Motor Home

from: Maxx Adventure Travel

Okay, you're ready to go on your first camping adventure and you're definitely not the only one. In the United States, camping is hugely popular. One reason is the many options available to you and your family. One choice is whether to use a motor home or go camping in a tent.

If this is your initial camping trip, you may be confused which way to go -- motor home or tent. This is a decision you're going to have to make so it's good to review the advantages and disadvantages of each choice.

Tent camping has a number of benefits, starting with the cost. Tents are available in many different shapes, sizes and styles, as well as a range of prices. They can be purchased from many retail stores or online. With some diligent research, you might even find a camping tent for as little as twenty to thirty dollars.

Another benefit is the tent camping experience. Camping tents are basically tarps that protect everyone from the outdoor elements, but still give you a sense of being in the open air. If you love the outdoors you'll love that "camping feel," and may enjoy the traditional tent camping experience best.

Camping the traditional way in a tent is great, but there are disadvantages as well. One downside is the potential for bad weather. Most camping tents are relatively strong and waterproof, but not all. If you're not sure what the weather will be during camping adventure, you should make sure you purchase a camping tent that's highly rated to ensure you don't wake up to a wet surprises.

Now, regarding camping in a motor home, you find there are advantages and disadvantages as well. Of course the biggest disadvantage of camping in a motor home is the cost. Motor home are expensive to buy so if you're camping on a budget, it's not likley you'll be able to afford to buy your own motor home. Of course, you don't actually have to buy a motor home since there are companies who will rent you a motor home for your vacation. Renting a motor home is certainly a good options and more affordable for the average family.

Therefore, once you've got your motor home for camping, you appreciate having what amounts to a small, mobile apartment along with you. Since your motor homes is likely equipped with a working bathroom, kitchen and possibly even a televisions, you'll be able to enjoy the camping experience, while still having modern luxuries to make your trip more comfortable.

So, deciding whether to go camping in a motor home or a traditional tent will largely depend on your budget and how far you want to go in "roughing" it while on your camping adventure. If you're a traditionalist, tenting is your only choice. However, if can afford the luxuries of a motor home, go for it!
