What Type of Camping Do You Want To Do?

from: Maxx Adventure Travel

If you're set to start your camping adventure, you're going to a great opportunity to experience nature and wildlife firsthand. Campers usually participate in hunting, fishing, studying plants, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, photography, wildlife watching or just relaxing and enjoying the fresh air and water.

There are many advantages to a camping vaction starting with the physical benefits of outdoor activities, plus camping instills confidence in your children as they learn how to "rough it." For adults, it's an opportunity for the challenge of leaving modern luxuries behind and learning how to survive in unfamiliar surroundings.

Day Hiking

Day hiking is increasingly popular with campers of all ages and lifestyles. If you have the physical stamina to walk a long distance plus and interest in nature then you'll enjoy hiking. Day hikers' objective is usually to hike for the day then get back the same day, usually as night approaches, to their campsite.

Along with the physical ability to walk long distances, you're going to have to prepare for any weather conditions, which means having the right tools and understand the techniques you'll need to be able to find the route back to your campsite.

Of course, the most critical apsect of being a successful hiker is to wear the correct footwear. Hiking is simply a lot of walking, so you'll be "on your feet" for long periods of time. Therefore, you must choose footwear designed specifically for hiking that are primarily build to give your feet comfort and not to make a fashion statement.

Many of those attracted to the "sport" of hiking are people who like to set challenges for themselves and then strive to achieve it. Hiking is a great physical challenge that requires commitment and planning, but also has the added benefit of getting you out into nature and giving you great some health benefits along the way.

RV Camping

RV or Recreational Vehicles provides the benefit of liberty and can travel at their own pace and are able to camp in different places without sacrificing the comfort RV vehicles provide.

An RV is like having a small lodge on wheels and is usually stocked with a heater, oven, refrigerator, shower, stove, beds, toilet, and electrical power. RVers say they enjoy their "mini hotel" because they're always "packed and ready-to-go". In addition, they can enjoy cooking, bathing and sleeping convenience while visiting at a remote campground.

If you're interested in experiencing RV camping and you're considering purchasing one, it's recommended that you rent one first to determine if the RV lifestyle is something you really want to di.

Backpacking Camping

Backpacking is once of the most exciting adventures and terriific way to get out and experienc the wilderness and great outdoors.

Backpacking adds extra excitement to a hiking experience because it extends your visit into the backwoods. You'll be able to travel a great distance into the wilderness because you have all the equipment needed to survive and don't have to go back to your campsite at the day's end.

Backpacking means exploring, on foot, beautiful and wild country, being self-sufficient, while hiking with your camping essentials always at hand in a comfortable backpack so you're able to set camp up in undeveloped and primitive areas.

The longer your trip, of course, the more supplies you're going to have to carry. What you bring with you as well as the distant you plan on hiking depends completely on your choices.

Preparing for a backpacking trip requires assembling, selecting and packing supplies and gears you'll needto bring along with you. Selecting your backpacking gear is very significant if you're going to have a successful trip. If you carry too much gear or the wrong type of gear you're going to start buckling under the heavy weight load, which is a good way to spoil your hike.

On the other hand, incorrect or not bringing enough gear could cause discomfort if certain situations arise and could even put you in danger.

Backpacking gear generally costs more than car camping, however, much less than RV camping and note, most backpacking campsites are free.

Tent Camping

Tent camping is the favorite for families with children because kids tend to enjoy it the most and as well as being rugged and inexpensive. Tent camping is done usually using a car to dirve to the campground that offers amenities that allow direct car access.

So, with these types of camping in mind, choose the one that best serves your needs and always keep safety in mind to ensure a fun filled adventure the whole family will love and look forward to every season.
