Finding the Right School Backpack

from: Maxx Adventure Travel

Children starting school for the first time are usually excited about getting a new backpack -- a right of passage kids will never forget. You can purchase school backpacks in a huge variety of colors, themes, and styles, it's just a matter of deciding which pack the student likes best. Parents will also consider the price range and durability.

Kids have an overwhelming number of choices in school backpacks including popular cartoon character packs, often their first choice. Girls love the Disney Princess line or flowers and butterfly designs. Unfortunately, for parents, many school backpacks come in pastel colors which means they're going to easily get dirty. Thus it's a bit of work, but important to keep them clean and fresh looking.

Boys enjoy school backpacks that are skateboard friendly with their favorite action characters that usually means the color choices are easier to keep clean.

When choosing a backpack for either boys or girls in this age group, parents should make sure the backpack is well made and durable. Any backpack that looks like it could fall apart in a few months won't be a very good investment even if it has a child's favorite character theme on it.

Students attending high school and college have lots of choices in school backpacks as well. Lots of styles can carry a laptop computer plus other electronic devices so important to students at these levels. College students attending at a large campus might consider purchasing a backpack that has wheels to ease the burdon of those long walks between classes. However, there are high schools that don't recommend these rolling designs since they don't fit into lockers very well.

As with the designs for young kids, these backpacks are available in a large variety of colors, materials and styles. It's probably a good idea to spend a bit more on a backpack at this stage. A well made backpack is going to be more durable and older students will likely take care of them better. A well designed school backpack is going to help keep school supplies and assignments better organized as well.

Regardless of the student's age or education level, having a school backpack in a very important school supply. If handled and worn properly, they protect those developing backs and shoulders along with making it easier to stay organized.
