from: Maxx Adventure TravelIf you're considering going on a camping trip, there are a lot of items you must consider. This is especially true if you're new to the camping scene. To start, the camping gear you'll need is much more than a tent and sleeping bag.
First, the type and size of tent is very important depending on how many people are going and how comfortable you plan on being while camping. Although we all know that when a tent says it's a four person, it usually means that at best, it will fit three people comfortably, and that's without inflatable mattresses and very little luggage. The number the tent gives is for extreme backpackers who plan on sleeping cosily inside the tent.
Another important item of camping gear is the sleeping bag. It isn't sufficient to take just any bag when camping. It's important to know the weather conditions of the campsite and to take the necessary precautions to keep yourself warm while sleeping.
However, since many campers may be carrying their luggage on their backs, it's also important the bag isn't too bulky and awkward to carry. There are compromises and these can be found at stores. Watching out for the temperature of the bag and the size is probably the most important. Getting the best in camping gear isn't always cheap, but it also doesn't have to bust a hole in your wallet. It's possible to find good quality camping gear at a reasonable price.
Another item of camping gear one needs to consider if camping over a few days, is a camping stove. These can be bought in most outdoor stores and again, they don't have to be large and bulky to serve their purpose. Small stoves can be found that only require some oil to light up and travel size pots can fit on top.
There's also specific camping gear better suited to different types of campers. For example, those camping with children, especially young children, will have to take a lot more into consideration than those travelling alone or in a group of peers. Certain precautions need to be taken by all campers but when there are children, there's a lot more to worry about. There's suitable camping gear for families, however. Family size tents are available and very comfortable.
So, no matter who the camper is, old or young, travelling alone or in a group, there's camping gear available. It's generally easy to use and set up, which is very important for those who don't want to spend all day building a tent.
