How to Sell Your Recreational Vehicle
from: Maxx Adventure TravelYou might be getting ready to part with that treasured recreational vehicle which has been a part of your family vacations.
When you feel it's time to sell your RV, be it a camper, a motorhome or a luxury van, here are some tips to remember before selling:
1. Go to a web site where you can place an ad for selling your used RV's.
Ask someone who already has sold a car to refer you to a good web site.
A good web site should post your listing for at least three months, with a photo of your RV, a list of the features and your complete contact information as the owner.
You'll need to pay a minimal fee for web site postings, but this is bound to get more results as buyers mostly surf the Internet for used vehicle listings.
2. Clean up your act
With all the time you've been dragging your RV on the streets, it should have a lot of 'bruises' and stains.
Nobody would want to buy a dirty clunk of metal. Before selling, make sure your vehicle is clean inside and out.
Surprise prospective buyers by coming up with a gleaming and tidy vehicle.
Wax and polish the external body of your RV and clean the flooring, carpet, and upholstery. Make sure the interior smells nice.
Buyers might like the RV at first glance but remember, they'll inspect it more closely, so make sure not to leave any unwanted personal items inside.
Clean the side mirrors, wind shield, tires, and polish every part that you can get your hands on.
3. Invest in the minor and the least expensive repairs.
Don't let a minor problem prevent a buyer from purchasing your RV.
Do minor repairs but leave the major repair jobs to the new owner. Some buyers might want to see proof you've been sending your RV to the shop for regular engine checkups, so dig up those receipts.
Also, sit down and find the time to decide which minor repairs you could make. If in the end, you'll recover the costs of the repairs with a higher selling price, then go ahead and dole out your money.
4. Fix up the engine.
Make some final engine fix-up's before selling. Replace bulbs which don't work, change the oil, inflate the tires and gas it up.
5. Decide on a selling price.
Prepare all the documents you need to give to the next owner. You're bound to close a sale if you follow these tips and make a good deal out of selling your used recreational vehicle.
